OCAd co: North Star Packaging Concept

Concept

In summer 2019, I conducted an independent project in which I developed and designed a concept for a packaging experience to be used in an OCAD CO workshop. I was asked to create a paperweight for participants in the workshop to take away as a memento of their experience. The theme I addressed was one of inner motivation or one’s own “personal north star” and what that might mean to the individual participant. The goal was to create an experience using the paperweight that the workshop participant would remember fondly.

Final Concept

This shows the workshop participant turning over their North Star paperweight and removing a small accordion booklet stored in the base.

Printed on these personalized accordion booklets are words the participant used in the workshop to describe what their “North Star” meant to them.
